By applying recent wave making theory it can be made possible to reduce the wave making resistance of high speed ferries to the minimum even in the prohibitive speed range of Froude number, 0.28-0.32. In this paper the results of tank tests of eight models (or which five correspond to actual ships) are analysed and compared with theories. Present knowledge on resistance and propulsive performance is also reported as a reference data for basic design.
