Abstract

In recent experiments, we have tried to induce the formation of bone from immature muscular tissue in vitro using BMP as a source of cytokine, and e-PTFE as a scaffold. To promote differentiation to the bone-like tissue, the influence of the Ca²⁺ was examined in this experiment. It was found that the addition of the Ca standard solution to the medium is very effective for this model of tissue engineering.
