Persistent AF experimental design and electroanatomic mapping.

(A) Persistent AF swine underwent cardiac pacemaker insertion and animals were rapidly paced at 350 bpm for six weeks to induce AF. (B) Flexible epicardial mapping devices were custom fabricated from animal specific cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. (C-D) Custom gold-plated flexible electrode arrays were mounted onto 3D printed epicardial shells to create a functional mapping device.
