Nest architecture and colony composition in two populations of Ectatomma ruidum sp. 2 (E. ruidum species complex) in southwestern Colombia
Table 1
Mean (± SEM) volume and depth of the chambers, tunnel length, and composition of the population of each chamber according to its relative position for the 24 E. ruidum sp. 2 nests extracted using the paraffin wax technique.
* The average values reported for the ninth chamber concerning the number of workers and gynes, must be considered with reservation because only one nest with nine chambers could be cast; they cannot be directly compared to the mean values found in the other chambers.
