(a) is for Republicans (REP), Independents (IND), and Democrats, (b) is for Conservatives (CON), Moderates (MOD), and Liberals (LIB). Median values and 95% CIs were determined by Markov Chain Monte Carlo for the probability distribution of Eq (10). For clarity in the graph, 95% CI error bars are only shown for INDs and MODs. Error bars for DEMs (LIBs) were somewhat smaller, while error bars for REPs (CONs) were larger.
