Reduction of hyperoxic acute lung injury in mice by Formononetin

Pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells were cultured in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium and treated with or without Formononetin (FMN).

The cell studies were performed in triplicate. (A) Cell viability was detected by MTT assay. (B) Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) DNA-bingding activity was detected by a TransAMâ„¢ Nrf2 kit. Heme oxygenase (HO)-1 expression was measured by real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (C) and western blotting analysis (D). *P < 0.05.
