The ratio of keratinised to total primary epidermal lamellar length (KPELL/PELL) in 8 consecutive PEL from three groups of horses.

The groups received: 0.9% saline (positive-control, n = 6), a combined insulin and glucose infusion (positive-control, n = 6), or a combination of insulin, glucose and an anti-IGF-1R monoclonal antibody (mAb11, n = 7). *P < 0.05 and ***P < 0.001 indicate significant differences compared to the positive-control group.
