A histological examination of spinal reconstruction using a frozen bone autograft

Fig 3

Representative histological images at 16-week post-reconstruction for the liquid nitrogen-treated bone autograft.

Mature bone was identified in the ends of the cage, while only reaction regions were visible on the dorsal side in the center of the cage, with no osteocytes, accumulation of osteoblasts or formation of osteoid being visible on the ventral side.
