A technique for lyopreservation of Clostridium ljungdahlii in a biocomposite matrix for CO absorption

Fig 2

Optimization of bacteria viability.

Optimal convective drying conditions were identified using CO uptake rate of the biocatalyst samples measured 75 hours after rehydration using gas chromatography techniques. A) CO uptake rate as a function of convective drying time. Imposed as the dashed line is a Gaussian fit with R2 = 0.97733. B) pH of coatings effect upon CO uptake rate. A linear fit was employed, with R2 = 0.99687. C) CO uptake efficacy after varying storage temperature. A cubic polynomial fit was applied to show apparent trend of data.
