While in the predicted direction (negative association), the relationship is not significant within groups (p = 0.12). (B) The causal mediation analysis divides the total effect of the TK transgene into the part that can be attributed to neurogenesis and to all other mechanisms. The effect of neurogenesis accounted for less than half (40%) of the total effect, although there is a great deal of uncertainty in this estimate. Error bars are 95% (thin) and 50% (thick) credible intervals.
