Myocardial Fibrosis Induced by Exposure to Subclinical Lipopolysaccharide Is Associated with Decreased miR-29c and Enhanced NOX2 Expression in Mice

Figure 6

LPS increases expression of NOX2 in isolated cardiac fibroblasts.

Expression of NOX2 mRNA (mean + SEM, n = 3) was measured in isolated cardiac fibroblasts from adult mice 48 hours after incubation with 0 (control), 0.1, 1, or 10 ng/ml LPS. Expression of NOX2 increased significantly with LPS doses 1 or 10 ng/ml compared with LPS 0.1 ng/ml or control (P<0.05). Expresssion of NOX2 mRNA was higher with 10 than 1 ng/ml LPS (P<0.05).
