Pyrrolobenzodiazepines (PBDs) Do Not Bind to DNA G-Quadruplexes

Structures of the G-quadruplex-interacting ligand KMR-04-12 (11), and the MPB-Py-Py fragment (12) identical to the C8-side chain of KMR-28-18 (5).

The MPB moiety in the centre of KMR-04-12 (11) provides the molecule with a U-shaped 3-dimensional shape suitable for binding to G-quadruplex DNA.
