Ginsenoside 20(S)-Rg3 Targets HIF-1α to Block Hypoxia-Induced Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition in Ovarian Cancer Cells

Figure 2

20(S)-Rg3 inhibited SKOV3 and 3AO cells mobility.

(A) Cell mobility detected by wound healing assay. Cells were incubated under normoxic condition for 24 h followed by scratching the confluent cell layer and exposing to normoxia, hypoxia or hypoxia plus 20(S)-Rg3 for another 24 h, respectively. The closure of the scratch was monitored during 24 h and photographs were shown at 0 h and 24 h after scratching. (B) Cell mobility examined by in vitro migration assay. Normoxically cultured cells were seeded into millicells, followed by incubation for 24 h under normoxia, hypoxia or hypoxia plus 20(S)-Rg3, respectively. The number of cells that passed through the membrane per 20× magnified lens were counted and used to represent the migration capacities of cells. All of the treatments in this figure were carried out in triplicate, and the results are displayed as the means ± SD. *P<0.05, **P<0.01, t-test.
