Analysis of the accuracy of the fraction marker.

(A) Methylation levels of the three regions were analyzed in 20 ESCCs by MS-HRMA. The fraction of cancer cells in each sample was defined as the highest methylation level of the three regions. (B) Correlation between the fraction of cancer cells estimated by the fraction marker and that assessed by microscopic examination. The correlation between the two methods, calculated using Pearson's product-moment correlation coefficient, was sufficiently high (r=0.85).
