Andrographolide Protects against LPS-Induced Acute Lung Injury by Inactivation of NF-κB

Andrographolide reduces NF-κB p65 DNA binding activity in vitro.

MLE-12 cells were stimulated with 0.5 µg/ml LPS in the presence and absence of 50 µM andrographolide for 12 hours. Then, DNA binding activity of NF-κB p65 was determined by a TransAM p65 transcription factor ELISA kit. Each bar represents the mean ± SD (n = 5). *P<0.01 compared with Control. #P<0.01 compared with LPS.
