Alkylphenols were oxidized at the terminal carbon atom (ω-oxidation) of their alkyl side-chain by the CYP5136A3 activity and the resulting ω-hydroxylated AP metabolites were further oxidized to their respective ω-aldehydes by the action of the known yeast host dehydrogenase activity.
