Immunoprecipitation by anti-HDAC4 antibody (Santa Cruz, anti-aa. 528-629) followed by western blot by anti-HDAC4 (Sigma monoclonal antibody, anti-aa. 1-19).

1, 2 are wts and 3, 4 are HDAC4ΔC mutants. 1, 3 are inputs for IP and 2, 4 are IP products. The ∼95 kDa protein (arrow) was immunoprecipitated by Santa Cruz anti-HDAC4 and then was detected by the Sigma HDAC4 antibody in western blot. The fact that ∼95 kDa protein contained both recognition regions of two different HDAC4 antibodies further supported its HDAC4 origin.
