The Co-Operonic PE25/PPE41 Protein Complex of Mycobacterium tuberculosis Elicits Increased Humoral and Cell Mediated Immune Response

Figure 3

The PE25/PPE41 protein complex shows high splenocyte proliferation activity.

Mice were injected with 20 µg each of the PE25, PPE41 and PE25/PPE41 proteins without any adjuvant. Splenocytes were isolated 4 weeks after the immunization with a booster dose at the second week and stimulated with corresponding proteins at different concentration in-vitro for 72 hours at 37°C. The proliferation activity was measured by Thymidine incorporation assay. The Different bars (as indicated) show the total thymidine (cpm) incorporated in the splenocytes isolated from mice immunized with the PE25/PPE41 complex, PPE41, PE25 and PBS (as indicated), stimulated in-vitro with the different concentration of the respective proteins (as indicated). The data shown represent three independent experiments carried out in triplicate.
