A novel breaking method of concrete structures was proposed in the present study. Micro capsules involving gunpowder and carbon fibers were mixed into the concrete to cause the micro explosion. Micro wave of 2.45 GHz was used to initiate the micro capsule. The length of carbon fiber was studied to optimize the microwave absorbing property. The amount of gunpowder was also studied to control the fracture behavior of concrete.
