As a form of design activities to create innovative products, collaborative design by unspecified number of designers and engineers in public work place (open source design) has attracted attention. In order to execute an open source design, services and tools to support communications and collaborations among participating designers and engineers are indispensable. In this paper, requirements of services and tools to support open source design activities are clarified, and a concept of service is proposed based on the identified requirements.
