Actuators using electromagnetic mechanisms have excellent high-speed response and controllability. In this study, a simple linear actuator model using magnetic functional viscous fluid is created as a basic study of artificial muscle as a soft actuator. The magnetic functional viscous fluid is composed of water, surfactant, oil, and magnetic powder. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the actuator by measuring the changes in the generated displacement and thrust force depending on the magnetic material concentration, magnetic field application method, and amount of the magnetic functional viscous fluid.
