The colouring compounds of the pulp and peels of Trichosanihes cucumeroides MAXIM. gave same carotenoids patterns on thin-layer chromatography. Crystals of β-carotene and lycopene were isolated from peels, and β-carotene from pulp. From the experimental results of seasonal variations of the fruits pigments, it was observed that the green colour of the fruits depended upon the existence of chlorophyl though the principal carotenoid was β-carotene; colour changing from green to orange mainly depended upon the appearance of lycopene and γ-carotene beside β-carotene and changing from orange to red colour was due to the increasing of lycopene and γ-carotene.
