The crude flavonoid glycosides obtained from Cyrtomium falcatum Presl and C. Fortunei J. Sm., and its variety, var, clivicola Tagawa, were hydrolysed, respectively yielding two new flavanones, cyrtominetin (I) and cyrtopterinetin (II), besides kaempferol and quercetin. The analytical values of (I) agree with the formula C₁₇H₁₆O₆ and (I) forms a tetraacetate, while (II) gives a triacetate and its analytical values agree with C₁₇H₁₆O₅. (I), (II), and their acetates show weak optical rotatory power and do not possess any methoxyl group.
