Discharge and Retention of Psychogeriatric Long-Stay Patients in a State Mental Hospital
Abstract
In the table accompanying the paper entitled "Discharge and Retention of Psychogeriatric Long-Stay Patients in a State Mental Hospital" by Gary S. Moak, M.D., in the April 1990 issue (pages 445-447), the headings of the second and third columns were reversed.
The second column, in which data on a group of 24 patients are reported, should have been labeled "Nondischarged," and the heading for the third column, in which data on 18 patients are reported, should have read "Discharged." Also, the proportion of assaultive patients in the nondischarged group was incorrectly reported as 16 percent; a total of 46 percent of the nondischarged patients were assaultive. The corrected table appears below. The editors regret the errors.
