Therapist’s Experience, Training, and Skill in Brief Therapy: A Bicoastal Survey

Results from a random survey of psychologists (N = 850, 58% response rate), indicate therapists spend 40% of their clinical time doing brief therapy; however, one-third of the respondents reported they had little or no brief-therapy training. Therapists’ self-rated experience, training, and attitude predicted their skill in brief therapy.
