Unresponsiveness: The Demon Artefact of Psychotherapy
Abstract
Freud’s original advice to psychoanalysts to be objective, gave rise to their tendency toward unresponsiveness. This artefact has its own natural history, and causes important problems for therapists, patients, and families. To avoid perpetuation of this artefact certain measures in the teaching of psychotherapists are indicated.
