The photorefractive effect of FLCs mixed with a series of photoconductive chiral dopants was investigated. A terthiophene was chosen as a photoconductive moiety and a chiral structure was introduced. The photoconductive chiral dopant was mixed with a liquid crystalline material. It was confirmed that the liquid crystalline mixtures exhibited both ferroelectricity and photoconductivity. The mixture exhibited a large gain coefficient of 720cm^<-1> with application of only 1.1V/μm external electric field.
