　1）正常有志者を対象とし，propranolol,befu—nolol,bupranolol,timolol点眼液の1回点眼の眼圧下降効果比較を行なった。propranolol効果を基準とするとbefunololは2.5倍，bupranolol5.0倍，timololは11.0倍の効果を有する。

　その他，動薬理学的解析因子の値を各薬剤について得た。

　この実験では，瞳孔径・自覚屈折・血圧・脈拍の変化は認めなかった。

　2）1.0％befunolol,0.5％bupranolol,0.25％timolol溶液点眼剤を1日2回，開放隅角高眼圧者を対象とし，8週間の間継続的に治療を試みた。

　その結果，眼圧下降力価は各群間に有意差を認めなかった。

　adverse reactionとしては，各群とも表層角膜炎，Schirmer's testによる涙液分泌減少を認め，timolol点眼群では20例中3例に徐脈を認めた。

The ocular-hypotensive effect of topically applied one drop of propranolol, befunolol, bupranolol and timolol solution at various concentrations was studied in twenty adult normal volunteers. The drug was instilled into one eye and the other was used as control. The differences of IOP, pupil diameter and subjective refraction between the treated eye and the control eye were measured in time-course. Same experimental procedures were repeatedly carried out for other concentrations of the same drug in the same volunteer.
