Information technology (IT) has been rapidly integrated into many aspects of our daily lives. Semiconductor technology plays a fundamental role in supporting social infrastructure and will continue to be an essential technology that improves the quality of life. In this paper, the history and status of semiconductor technology are briefly reviewed, and future hardware platforms for artificial intelligence are discussed.
