Oviposition site on the rice plant where Sogatella furcifera laid their eggs and the number of egg-mass on it were investigated during-43th to +15th day after appearing fifty percent of panicle nodes (DAP). Most of the egg-masses were found on the lower part of leaf-blade and on the upper part of leaf-sheath, and the rate of its oviposition numbers on the leaf-blade to that on all tissues increased from 51% to 97% with stages of rice development. The leaf-blade position (the position from flag-leaf) where laid a lot of eggs was as high as that of leaf-sheath or a little bit higher than that. It was found on the 6th or/and 7th lower leaf of flag-leaf until-20th DAP, and after that it gradually rose from 5th to 2nd leaf position. No top leaves and bottom one had so many eggs on the plant at any time. The number of egg-masses per female remarkably decreased after ±Oth DAP. In the result, we discussed the conditions for oviposition and the population dynamics of the insect.
