A case of 48 years old female patient who presented herself with chief complaint of hoarseness was reported. The laryngeal inspection revealed a semiglobular tumor, size of small finger tip, at left arytenoid area.
This was removed by forceps through oral approach. Pathologic finding was of typical neurinoma originated in larynx.
In Japan, laryngeal neurinoma is reportedly quite rare and only a little over 10 cases have been reported previously.
It favours female sex slightly and occurs predominantly in the arytenoid area. The prognosis appears to be good in general.
