Assessment of the Nursing Observatory as a support tool to combat the contamination of nursing professionals by COVID

Published:20 November 2023Publication History

ABSTRACT

This article presents the evaluation process of the Nursing Observatory, which is an information system with a structured electronic form, which allows the collection and analysis of data regarding the spread of Covid-19 among nursing professionals throughout Brazil territory. The creation and implementation of the Nursing Observatory resulted in a panel of indicators with the notification of cases of infection and deaths of nursing professionals by Covid-19. A survey was applied to more than 140 (N=143) users of the tool in order to know their perception of its quality. The SSI (Success Information System) assessment method was used. As a result, the platform proved to be an essential tool for decision making. throughout the Brazilian territory, either by nursing entities or public managers of municipalities and states. It also contributed to nursing professionals greater visibility and dissemination to the population and the press of the precarious working conditions to which are exposed.
