ABSTRACT
This article focused on Sociolinguistics textbooks’ condition that has been used in the universities. This research used descriptive-analysis method. This method used to analyze data about material in the textbooks of Sociolinguistics with local wisdom insight. This research used document analysis method as one of the qualitative studies to study the contents of local wisdom insights in Sociolinguistic textbooks, both descriptive and distributive. The data source of this research are six Sociolinguistics textbooks which has been used for learners who take Sociolinguistics courses at universities. Data collected were sorted, analyzed, and summarized. Moreover, the data result was also described by focusing the fact that correlated to the local wisdom insight as the object on this research. Based on the finding of the research it can be concluded that Sociolinguistics textbooks that have been used contain less material of local wisdom insight as the source of cultural diversity in Indonesia. These Sociolinguistics textbooks still dominated by Sociolinguistics theories and its implementation toward the speech activities in society.
