Published:15 July 2022Publication History

ABSTRACT

Education is tasked with developing character as well as intellectuality in the form of student competencies. Restructuring the Indonesian national education system can be started by relocating character as the most important dimension of national education. Schools are the most strategic places in shaping the character of students, because in schools character education can be programmed well, both through curricular programs and extracurricular programs. However, the moral crisis in the world of education is increasingly showing a decline due to the destruction of the character structure of the nation's generation so that it shows the importance of character education for someone who must be done as early as possible. The use of technology for learning purposes is considered important in this era of globalization. The implementation of the educational process is very much helped by the media, including in the cultivation of character education. Through technology-assisted learning media, character values should be grown, not only being an important factor in conveying subject matter information but also containing moral messages for students. This study used a qualitative approach with case study methods, and data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study reveal that elementary school teachers in Langsa City have shown sufficient understanding of the use of technology in the implementation of strengthening character education in schools.
