ABSTRACT
At present, China's manufacturing industry is still at a relatively low level in the global value chain, and the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry is imminent. Manufacturing servitization is one of the important ways to transform and upgrade the manufacturing industry. It is important to explore the impact of technological innovation and human capital on manufacturing servitization. This paper empirically investigates the role of technological innovation and human capital in manufacturing servitization orientation. The results show that there is a significant relationship between human capital and technological innovation on manufacturing servitization. In addition, there are different levels of influence between human capital and manufacturing servitization or between technological innovation and manufacturing servitization in technology-intensive and labor-intensive manufacturing firms. For capital-intensive firms, only the number of R&D employees has a positive and significant impact on the number of service businesses. Finally, this paper proposes several countermeasures such as expanding research and development (R&D) teams and increasing R&D investment.
