ABSTRACT

The study is intended to obtain information needed in developing teaching materials to develop gross motor skills through a mountain climbing outbond activity for students age 5-6 years olds, and in the end it results in a teaching product of gross motor skills teaching materials based on a mountain climbing outbond activity for children of 5-6 years old. This developmental research refers to steps developed by Borg and Gall consisting of (a) preliminary research and information collecting, (b) planning, (c) the development of preliminary product (d) the preliminary field test, (e) revising the product of the preliminary field test, (f) the main field test, (g) the revision of operational products, and (h) the operational field test. The preliminary field test subjects comprise of 5 children in group B of Al- Hidayah Early Childhood Education (PAUD). The main field test subjects in the operational class consist of 20 children, in group B Al-Hidayah Early Childhood Education (PAUD). The data collection was carried out through interviews, observation and questionnaire distribution. The Data analysis was done using quantitative and independent t-test samples with a degree of 0.05. The results show that the "development gross motor skill" teaching module based on a mountain climbing outbond activity can be used to enhance the gross motor skills of children of 5-6 years - old.
