Abstract
The personal computer, hereinafter called PC, has profoundly affected the university community. A growing number of faculty from many disciplines are focusing instructional efforts around PCs and, as a result, more and more students are called upon to do their classwork using them. They are also increasingly being used by faculty for research and record keeping, and by administrative and clerical staff for word processing, spreadsheets, database access, and communication just as in other governmental and private business organizations. The result is a wide, growing, and changing use of PCs in the university community.
