The aims of this paper are to present affections of demographic changes to retail services. Hachioji City, a rapidly growing city 40km west of central Tokyo was taken as the study area. By 250m square grid analyses, demographic segregation in age, family type, occupational structure and place of work were clearly illustrated. From original questionaires, differences in consumer behaviors by age and social groups were explained.
