RENGO will celebrate its 110^th anniversary in 2019. “Vision 110” has been set as the medium-term vision of the RENGO Group, and the future direction of GPI RENGO (General Purpose Packaging Industry) was clarified. The vision mentions the utilization of information and communication technology including IoT, which is one of the issues that all employees of the RENGO group should challenge in the future. The work team was set up to embody the problems "to study thoroughly the information and communication technology (IoT, M2M, etc.) and to improve the efficiency of manufacturing processes, logistics, and supply chain". In this case study, we will introduce examples of energy-saving utilizing the IoT project at the cardboard manufacturing factory from the six core businesses of RENGO.
