The various Mantel-Haenszel procedures of the extended odds ratio in the negative binomial distribution are constructed in a unified way. They cover the confidence interval, the test for homogeneity and the regression analysis. For this purpose we introduce a new variance estimator of the estimating function for the Mantel-Haenszel estimator. The usual odds ratio in the binomial distributions and the ratio of the means in the Poisson distributions are two special examples of the extended one. Conditional inference is also discussed briefly.
