We newly developed an original hood attached to a snare-guide tube (SGT-hood) for endoscopic aspiration mucosectomy. We performed endoscopic aspiration mucosectomy for 22 lesions of gastrointestinal tract using this novel device. Manipulation of the endoscope equipped with the device has become easier than before. Detachment of the device from the endoscope has also been simplified. All the lesions but one could be removed by a single procedure. An average diameter of specimens obtained by this procedure was larger (23×20 mm) than that obtained by the previous method with the former hood. We have experienced no serious complications, such as massive bleeding or perforation. We conclude that endoscopic aspiration mucosectomy using SGT-hood promises an easiness and certainty of resection for gastrointestinal lesions.
