A new species of Multidentula Lindholm in the Early Pleistocene of Italy (Gastropoda: Pulmonata: Enidae)

Abstract
A description of a new fossil species of pulmonates belonging to the genus Multidentula Lindholm 1925 is given. The new species, Multidentula helenae, comes from Lower Pleistocene silty clayey layers of Central Italy (Fighille and Montone, Tuscany-Umbria). For the first time the genus Multidentula, at present widespread in Eastern and Southeastern Europe and in the Near East, is recorded in Italy.
Kurzfassung
Eine neue fossile Art der Pulmonaten Gattung Multidentula Lindholm 1925 wird hier beschrieben. Es handelt sich um Multidentula helenae, welche aus siltig-tonigen Ablagerungen des Unter-Pleistozäns von Mittel-ltalien (Fighille in Toskana und Montone in Umbrien) gewonnen wurde. Die Gattung Multidentula ist in Ost- und Südost-Europa und vom Kaukasus bis nach Israel verbreitet und wird nun erstmals aus Italien zitiert.
