Eighty one cases of Mental Health Certificate in Saga-Ken from April, 1961 through September, 1964 were presented.
Sex and Age: Male cases of 62, female cases of 19. 29 cases were the age of 20-29, 22 cases were the age of 30-39. A number of patients of adolescence and prime of live were attractive.
Diagnosis: 71% of schizophrenia, 8% of feeblemindedness, 7% of epilepsy.
Period of contraction: There was no difference of contraction between male and female. 21 cases within 5 years, 17 cases for 5-9 years.
Occupation: 27 cases of agriculture, 5 cases of clerk, 4 cases of fishery, 4 cases of commerce and 31 cases of no occupation.
Results of Mental Health Test: The cases of compulsory hospitalization were 59%, the cases of not compulsory hospitalization were 35%. Among the patients of not compulsory hospitalization, there were a lot of cases who needed to be confined in the mental hospital.
Abnormal Behaviors of Patients of Compulsory Hospitalization: Destruction of furniture were 27 cases. Violence were 26 cases, wandering were 26 cases. Attempting of suicide were 16 %cases. Self-injuring were 9 cases. Unclearing were 11 cases. Incendiarism were 8 cases. Sexual abnormality were 7 cases.
Abnormal Behaviors of Patients of not Compulsory Hospitalization: The number of destruction, violence and wandering were similar to the former. But the evidences of attempting suicide, self-injuring and incendiarism were a small number.
