This study evaluates the design of the zoological exhibition facility from the view point of visitors’ experience. ‘Hokkaido brawn bear hose’ in Sapporo Maruyama Zoo was built for the purpose of drawing animal’s natural behaviors and exhibiting them to visitors effectively. We focused on the visitors’ expressions of admiring the animal. The bear’s behavior and visitors’ expressions while watching were observed. There were 5 patterns of the physical situation regarding to the facility design when such expressions were observed.
