The author proposes a street amenity design method whereby streetscape elements are specialized through a survey of roadside space. The previous report focused on the molding of elements and streetscape images including sequence, and emphasized the importance of hannonized hard and soft elements. This survey examines the status of roadside space as a streetscape element which has the power to encourage pedestrian actions that create comfort and amenity, while being an important aspect of the visual open atmosphere.
