Abstract
We show that the efficiency of high harmonic generation in nonlinear Thomson scattering is strongly increased in relativistic regime. This is why the Thompson scattering mechanism is more competitive compared to the standard mechanisms for the high harmonic generation at the interaction between ultra intense laser beams and electron plasmas.
