Abstract
With the development of communication technology from 1G to 5G, emerging intelligent services put forward higher requirements for network performance. In order to further improve communication efficiency, new semantic communication system can be designed at the level of meaning expression. Semantic communication is concerned with the meaning carried in the transmission content, that is, semantic information, which is encoded with semantic information. In this paper, the framework of the semantic communication system for unmanned vehicles is designed with text as the transmission content. The framework design consists of the semantic layer and the traditional transmission layer, which guarantee the semantic extraction and communication accuracy between unmanned vehicles respectively. Meanwhile, the transformer model is used to design the semantic encoder and decoder, and its attention mechanism can effectively extract the semantic information of the sentence. Experiment results show that the BLEU score obtained by semantic communication system for unmanned vehicles is higher than that of traditional communication system in different signalto-noise ratio environments, and has higher transmission reliability.
