Abstract
An experimental method of observing the ozone distribution in near surface by UAV ozonesonde together with groundbased ozone lidar is proposed. Ozone vertical profile from surface to one Kilometer is observed by UAV with 6 rotors equipped with ozonesonde, to compare with that of ground-based ozone lidar, as well as ozone analyser in the collocated mobile vehicle to validate the data uniformity in near surface among these three methods. Experiment shows that the observation results of UAV and lidar are consistent very well, where the maximum relative deviation is less than 6.5%. Ozone lidar can outputs continuous temporal and spatial ozone distribution while UAV ozonesonde only produces a certain episode of ozone distribution which is useful to verify the former credibility. The detection accuracy will be affected by turbulence when the UAV speed is high. UAV, as a complement measurement tool, can provide collaborative observation with lidar in near surface where lidar has dead zone.
