Call me cheap

One of the UK's fastest growing telecoms companies, Telefficiency, is to launch TeleSaver Plus, a sophisticated device for SMEs which routes individual telephone calls over the cheapest network. With the proliferation of national and international telecommunications companies competing with BT and Cable & Wireless, independent least-cost routing is taking off in the UK. There are currently in excess of 50 networks providing telecommunications services in the UK and competition between them is fierce. Independent least-cost routing is designed to act as an interface between a user and these networks and automatically route the individual user's phone, fax or data signals to the network that will carry them at the cheapest rate. Telefficiency will use TeleSaver Plus to introduce new call routing features previously unavailable in the SME market. The device works on a single telephone line and is able to operate with 15 carriers - more than any other similar device. TeleSaver Plus recognises peak and off-peak call rate differences and will, if the network is congested, re-route calls to a chosen alternative network. The device is also able to let Telefficiency know that it is still routing correctly and collect new number plans and routing instructions. An LED gives the user clear indication when the TeleSaver Plus is routing calls. TeleSaver Plus can be programmed remotely - on a daily basis if necessary - to recognise changes in networks' call rates and then to provide immediate access to lower charges. The connector on the TeleSaver Plus unit simply plugs directly into a BT socket. The user's telephone is then plugged into TeleSaver Plus which then routes subsequent calls, faxes or data signals to the most cost-effective network. The unit is line powered and requires no batteries or external power. It consumes a tenth of the power used by previous devices. For sales, Telefficiency can be contacted on 0800 980 5200.
