Additions to the Alfa Laval heat exchanger range

Keywords Heat exchanger

The thermal division of Alfa Laval has recently made two important additions to its range of gasket-free AlfaRex, all-welded heat exchangers to meet market demand for high-performance exchangers in non-standard materials. The AlfaRex's all-welded construction makes them ideal for duties which involve a combination of pressure and temperature cycling. However, the stainless steel version could not cope with some applications involving caustic or other aggressive materials; hence the need for the new nickel and titanium versions. Designated TM20B, both models are available in two thicknesses of materials, 0.6mm and 0.8mm respectively, and comply with major vessel codes such as TUV, SA and ASME. The TM20 in nickel has been developed specifically as an evaporator in caustic processes, whilst the titanium version is expected to find more general application in the oil, gas and similar industries.
